Abstract
Background and Aim: Food security, as one of the most fundamental components of human life, beyond an economic or development issue, has been considered in recent decades within the framework of human rights. The right to adequate food, as one of the fundamental human rights, is rooted in the inherent dignity of man.
Materials and Methods: The present study is descriptive-analytical and based on library studies.
Ethical Considerations: In the present study, the principles of trustworthiness, honesty, impartiality, and originality of the work have been observed. Economic, social, and cultural rights have been recognized.
Findings: The research findings show that governments are not only obligated to ensure citizens' physical and economic access to sufficient, healthy, and sustainable food, but also have an obligation to refrain from any action or policy that violates this right and to provide the basis for the realization of human dignity by adopting legislative, executive, and judicial measures.
Conclusion: Achieving food security is not possible without a human rights approach and the real commitment of governments to international obligations, and ensuring human dignity requires the recognition and effective implementation of the right to food as a fundamental human right.
